Meet Danielle Halzack: The Intersection of Elite Athletics and Motherhood

Danielle Halzack is the founder of Empowered Life PT and a pioneer in New Jersey’s physical therapy landscape. Her career is defined by a passion for treating the most demanding physical cases and a dedication to filling the gaps left by traditional healthcare.

A History of High Performance

Before establishing Empowered Life PT, Danielle spent years in high-level outpatient settings where she became the go-to provider for elite competitors. She has successfully treated Olympic-level gymnastic athletes, many of whom followed her and “paid out of pocket for her services including home visits” because of the results she delivered.

Danielle understands that for elite gymnasts and competition dancers, “recovery” isn’t just about pain relief—it’s about returning to a level of performance that is a “whole other ball game”. Her deep understanding of biomechanics allows her to speak the language of coaches and athletes alike, ensuring that rehabilitation translates directly to higher scores and safer landings.

The Only Certified OB PT in New Jersey

Danielle’s transition into pelvic health was driven by her own journey through motherhood. Having been pregnant for four years straight, she realized that while many therapists are certified in general pelvic floor issues, there was a massive lack of providers specialized in Obstetrics (OB)—the specific physiological care of the pregnant and immediately postpartum body.

Danielle is currently the only Certified OB Physical Therapy (C-OBPT) practitioner in New Jersey.

  • The Distinction: “Doctors understand the difference, but not all patients do.”  While a Pelvic Floor PT focuses on the muscles of the pelvic bowl, a C-OBPT specializes in the complex orthopedic and systemic changes that occur during pregnancy and birth. This makes Danielle uniquely qualified to treat women from conception through the “fourth trimester” and beyond.

Our Philosophy: Quality Over Volume

Danielle chose to leave the high-volume clinic world to build Empowered Life PT. She realized that to provide the level of care her Olympic athletes and postpartum moms deserved, she needed freedom from the assembly-line grind of a typical PT office.

Empowered Life PT is her answer: a practice where she can set her own hours to be present for her own children while being fully present for yours. When you work with Danielle, you aren’t just a medical record number; you are a fellow parent, an athlete, and a partner in health.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the difference between your OB certification and a normal Pelvic Floor certification?

The C-OBPT certification is a rigorous specialization focusing on the obstetrical patient. It covers advanced management of high-risk pregnancies, labor support preparation, and acute postpartum care. While Danielle handles all pelvic floor issues, this certification makes her the premier choice for pregnant women in NJ.

These sports require a unique blend of extreme flexibility and explosive power. Traditional PT often fails these athletes by simply telling them to “rest” or “stop moving.” Danielle finds passion in the challenge of getting these athletes back to the sport they love safely.

Yes. Having treated Olympic-level athletes, Danielle is accustomed to complex injuries where the stakes are high. She applies this same level of critical thinking and detailed care to every patient, whether you are heading to the Olympics or just want to lift your toddler without pain.

Empowered Life PT is a fully mobile practice based in Northern New Jersey. We do not have a brick-and-mortar clinic, which lowers our overhead and allows us to focus strictly on patient care in your home environment.
